Product Description

Edge banding work is an important process in the manufacture of panel furniture. The quality of the edge banding directly affects the quality, price, and grade of the product. Edge banding can improve the appearance quality of the furniture, prevent corners damage, and the veneer layer from picking up or peeling off. At the same time, it can play the role of waterproofing, close the release of harmful gases, and reduce deformation during the transportation and use process. The raw materials used by the panel furniture manufacturers are mainly particleboard, MDF, block board, particle board, solid wood board, plywood, polymer plate, fire board, and other wood-based panels. The selected edge strips are mainly PVC, polyester, melamine, and wood strips. The structure of the edge banding machine mainly includes the fuselage, various trimming processing components, and control systems. It is mainly used for edge sealing of panel furniture. It is characterized by automation, high efficiency, high precision, and aesthetics. It has been widely used in panel furniture manufacturers.

Pre-milling: the 2-motor pre-milling unit with automatic intervention. 
The pre-milling process in edge banding machines involves the removal of excess material from the edge of the workpiece before the edge banding is applied. This is done to ensure a clean and smooth edge for the banding to adhere to.
The pre-milling process typically involves the use of two multiple milling heads that are equipped with high-speed rotating cutters. These cutters are designed to remove the excess material from the edge of the workpiece, such as saw marks, rough edges, or any imperfections.
By removing the excess material before edge banding, the pre-milling process helps to ensure a precise and clean edge that allows the banding to be applied smoothly and securely. This not only improves the overall appearance of the finished product but also enhances the durability and longevity of the edge banding.

Gluing
The edge banding machine is set up and prepared for the gluing process. This includes adjusting the machine settings, such as temperature and glue application rate, to ensure proper bonding. Then the heat is applied to activate the glue and facilitate bonding. The edge banding material is fed into the machine, and glue is applied to the edge of the material. After the glue is applied, the edge banding material is pressed against the edge of the workpiece using pressure rollers. The temperature and pressure are carefully controlled to ensure a strong bond, where it adheres due to the glue. After cooling, any remaining rough edges or glue can be trimmed and polished for a smooth and finished appearance.


End trimming
The mechanism is to cut the forward and rear tape after gluing and has a press process by the movement of the precise guide track. It has automatic tracking and a high-frequency motor with a fast-cutting structure to ensure the cutting is smooth. 


Fine trimming
There are two individual high-frequency motors to fine-trim the exceeding edge on the top and bottom sides of the panel to ensure both sides of the edge are smooth and even.

Scraping
The unit for a perfect finishing of the applied edge.

Buffing
The unit is equipped with cotton polishing wheels to make a smooth surface by end-polishing.
